Our in-depth course on bridal makeup and hairstyling provides all the information you need to start a career as a professional in this field. 

The Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma in Bridal Hair and Make-up (RQF) is aimed at those learners currently working in the hair and beauty sector who wish to specialise in bridal hair and make-up.  The course will enable you to provide high quality hair styling and make-up services to embark on a successful and exciting new career. All the units in this qualification relate directly to the specific job role and the      wedding industry.

 

Over 5 months at our academy, you will go through all the necessary makeup techniques for creating beautiful bridal makeup and on-trend bridal hairstyling techniques. Once you have completed this course and achieved your Diploma at level 3, you will feel confident in achieving any look requested by your bride. Our classes are kept to a small size to give our students the best possible learning experience.

UNIT DESCRIPTIONS

  • Explore Technological Developments within the Hair Beauty and associated areas

      This unit will help you to advise your clients about technological developments. Areas include micro-pigmentation, laser treatments,                dermal fillers, hair extensions, chemical peels and teeth whitening, as well as facial cosmetic surgery.

 

  • Client Consultation for Hair Services

       After completion this unit you will be able to creatively assess the client’s requirements; conduct visual checks and any necessary tests          on the hair, skin and scalp; advise clients on services or products; and advise clients on hair maintenance and management.

 

  • The Art of Dressing Hair 

       This unit is to develop the creative skill of styling, dressing and finishing hair. You will learn how to identify the capability of your                       client’s hair which will allow you to choose from a range of products, tools and equipment to complete the look.

 

  • Styling Bridal Hair

       This unit is to develop your technical skill to an advanced level to create a variety of bridal hair styles such as Hollywood waves,                       Victory Rolls, French Pleat. You will be able to analyse the compatibility of your clients’ hair, with consideration for the style of dress to           be worn.

 

  • Special Occasion Hair Styles

       The purpose of this unit is to enable learners to further develop their creativity and extend their styling, dressing and finishing                           techniques and skills to create up-do styles for various special occasions.

 

  • Styling and Dressing Hair (using a range of techniques)

       You will learn different styling techniques to suit various styles, such as traditional bridal, vintage or boho. You will learn how to                        create texture and volume, what tools to use and how to use them to create various curl types, twists and styles.

 

  • Apply Make-up

       This unit is about providing make-up for a variety of occasions, including day, evening and special occasions. You will be able to                       work with a variety of skin types and apply a wide range of make-up products to different skin tones and age groups.

 

  • Bridal Make-up

       You will learn the techniques for applying and styling makeup for brides, including methods for priming the face, applying foundation              and creating the perfect bridal smoky eye, winged eye liner or contemporary 3D eye make-up.

  • Asian Bridal Make-up

       The aim of this unit is to develop the skills required to design and apply different Asian bridal looks for brides.

  • False Eyelash Application

       You will learn about and complete practical work be assessed on the safe application of individual false eyelashes.

 

  • Monitor and Maintain Health and Safety Practice in the salon

       This unit will develop your skills in a supervisory role, recognise salon hazards, carry out risk assessments and then implement the                  necessary actions on health and safety within your salon.

 

  • Maintaining Personal Health and Well-being

       To develop your knowledge and understanding of how to maintain your own health and well-being.

 

Assessments

During this course you will be assessed through various assessments, multiple choice theory exams, evidence portfolio and workbooks. Also, a 90% attendance is required to pass the course due to the intensity and course length. You will receive personal guidance and tutorials throughout the course by our highly experienced tutors to ensure your goals are met, and you successfully achieving your         qualifications. 

 

Entry Requirements

To achieve this qualification, learners must have previously achieved a Level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing or Make-Up. However, if you don’t fulfil the entry requirement then you need to complete a 1 week Level 2 Award in Skin which will be embedded at the   beginning of the course. 

 All of our Level 3 courses are Government-funded by the Advanced Learner Loan. If you wish to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to      fund the course, these are the requirements to join our course:​

AGE

  • You must be 19 or over on the first day of your course

NATIONALITY AND RESIDENCY STATUS

  • Be living in the UK on the first day of your course

  • Be a UK national or have ‘settled status’ (this means there are no restrictions on how long you can stay)

  • Have been living in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man for 3 years before starting your course

  • You may be eligible if you’re an EU national, or a family member of an EU national

  • You have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme

  • A refugee, or the family member of one

  • you’ve been given indefinite leave to remain because you’ve been the victim of domestic violence

  • you’ve been given indefinite leave to remain as a bereaved partner

Delivery

 

This course is delivered at our Canary Wharf Centre with attendance for classes being required one day a week, 10:00am - 4:00pm.

Our expert course tutors will guide you through the course and our centre is equipped with everything you need to be able to complete assignments and undertake independent study, including computers and laptops. 

Course Fee
